About the Course

Class Size Recommendation: any size

Age Recommendation: 6 and up


This is an introductory course in illusionary magic. Students will learn fundamental magic principles such as sleight of hand, trick structure, and distractionary performance. We will learn basic illusions that don't rely on complicated or expensive props, as well as exploring the vibrant history of magic and how it has changed our world. In addition, we will also provide instruction on starting a business in party entertainment as a performing magician.


Reed Soeffker has a lifetime of experience perfoming magic tricks. He as worked as a party entertainer, and done impromtu close-up or "street magic" all over MN and other parts of the U.S.


Joe Eckes has been studying and performing magic ever since he, at 5 years old, saw a David Copperfield special on t.v. He has worked as party entertainer for both kid and adult parties, done several large amateur shows, and done "street magic" with his friend Reed for many, many years.


This course teaches the following: history, manual dexterity, public speaking and performance skills, and creative thinking.
