Come learn about the voyageur life from Mr. Miles, a "living history" teacher. Mr. Miles will discuss the rich history of the fur trade in Minnesota and bring some voyageur games for us to play.

About the event
Bonjour mon amis! Come learn about Minnesota's rich history in the fur trade from "living history" teacher, Mr. Miles. In costume and in character as "Jean Jacque," Mr. Miles will regale students with stories of the wild and wooly life of a French Voyageur. In addition, we will also get to play some voyageur themed games like: guess the animal skin, voyageur sash tug of war, fur pack relay race, and others. In addition we will be doing a trinket swap game. Students must bring a small item of nominal value to do the trinket swap (i.e. a toy car, interesting rock, fidget), and be ok with it getting traded to someone else.
Mr. Miles is a historian, historical re-enactor, and teacher. His unique approach through costumed characters and hands on lessons/games brings students on a journey through time and connects them to the past. He teaches in homeschool co-ops,…
